Now, three months later, it appears that Fossil is ready to activate the support and has silently upgraded the feature on its watches that run on Google's Wear OS version 2.0 operating system. To utilise Alexa with your Fossil or Skagen watch, you'll need to grant the app permission to access the watch's integrated microphone and link the smart assistant with the Alexa companion phone app.As far as we know, the Alexa support does not appear to function with any Fossil-specific commands.Of course, they aren't the first smartwatches that include Alexa on the wrist.
Alexa is supported with Fitbit's Versa 2, Versa 3, and Sense smartwatches, which can respond to text and speech commands.Alexa is also available on Amazfit's smartwatches and fitness trackers, including the Band 5 fitness tracker. While this is a wonderful software update for Fossil and Skagen Gen 6 smartwatches, the upgrade to Wear OS 3.0 is what we're waiting for.Although we know it will arrive in 2022, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 remains the sole smartwatch that runs on the Google and Samsung-developed version of Wear.
