The Honor Band 5 is a budget tracker for fitness enthusiasts. It has SpO2 monitoring, heart rate sensor, GPS functionality, sleep monitoring, and a host of tracking features. This waterproof tracker even has music control. Its Huawei health app is compatible with both iOS and Android phones.

Design

This Honor tracker has a 0.95-inch AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 240 x 120 pixels. The display has different viewing angles letting you easily check the screen even when youre outdoors. Also, you can choose from 5 brightness settings.The tracker core unit is in black and comes with blue, black, green or pink band. The bands are designed with adjustment holes and a buckle for secure fastening. The heart rate monitor integrated on the back of the tracker lies directly above your wrist.A touch-sensitive circle is located just below the screen. This circle acts as an end workout button and a Home button. You can operate the tracker using this circle or via the smartphone app.

Fitness Tracking features

The Honor Band 5 has Huaweis TruSleep that offers sleep and step tracking. It gives you visualizations of light and deep sleep details. The tracker monitors 10 exercises, which are indoor walking, indoor running, indoor cycling, outdoor walking, outdoor cycling, outdoor walking, cross training, rowing, indoor swimming, and free training.The stopwatch and timer come handy when youre doing kettlebell swings and planks. Sync your tracker with your smartphone to access GPS functionality. The sensors track resting heart rate and continuous heart rate. The latter can be measured in to monitoring modes Smart and Real Time.The Smart mode automatically measures heart rate when youre doing an activity. The Real Time model continuously monitors the heart rate. The SpO2 tracking measures the oxygen level in blood.

User Interface

The primary watch face displays Bluetooth connection status, battery and weather when its tapped. The menu has step count, workout, SpO2, sleep messages, heart rate, music, and more options.When you tap on the more option, the timer, stopwatch and watch face swap options are displayed. When the watch face is swapped, you can see the phone and access settings. Use the capacitive button to display the watch face.

Battery and Charging

The 100mAh battery keeps the tracker powered for up to 14 days. However, if you continuously use the heart rate monitoring and fitness tracking features, then the battery life drops by about 15%.The tracker has two POGO connectors to connect the external charging cradle. Connect a microUSB cable to the external charging cradle to power the tracker. It takes about an hour to fully charge the tracker.
