Xiaomi is rumoured to be working on the Mi Band X, a smartwatch/tracker hybrid cuff featuring a 360-degree display and magnetic clasp. That's according to PCNews, a Russian rumours site focusing on Xiaomi, which claims photographs of internal Xiaomi presentations detailing a "360 flexible scroll screen without strap." A "magnetic bracelet buckle" that is "very thin and light" is discussed in the presentation. There's no information on when this will be released, but it appears that it will be disclosed in 2022. Of course, this isn't the first time Xiaomi's manufacturing partner Huami released a comparable device in 2020. The Amazfit X (shown) has a curved AMOLED screen and was funded through Indiegogo. It did make it onto people's wrists, but a quick look at the Indiegogo website indicates a disgruntled customer base, and the device has been out of stock on Amazon for quite some time. The Amazfit X, on the other hand, was more of an enthusiast product meant to demonstrate what is possible in wearables - something we've seen with the Nubia Alpha.Another specialized garment with a wrap-around cuff display was this one. This type of gadget hasn't yet piqued the interest of the general public, so we'd expect Xiaomi to use it as a proof-of-concept or crowdfunding project to demonstrate its capabilities and serve as a testing ground for future Mi Band 6 features. Obviously, if Xiaomi can address the bulkiness and weight of a 360-degree gadget, it may attract more attention.
