After the release of its upgraded operating system later this year, Google has addressed the future of Wear OS smartwatches. A Google representative confirmed which devices will receive the update and what will happen to those that won't. First and foremost, both the TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch E3 will be updated to Wear OS 3. Google expects its partners to roll out the system update starting in the mid to second half of 2022. According to sources, the new Wear OS experience will be available for TicWatch devices in late 2021 or early 2022, so it will be fascinating to see how long customers will have to wait. A statement said that a system upgrade to Wear OS 3 will bring the advantage of many of the new experiences to the previous generation of Wear OS smartwatches, and in select limited situations, the user experience may also be impacted an also the breadth of the changes made to Wear OS 3 will also need one to update and reset their smartwatch to the factory settings. Fossil's new devices, which will be released later this year, will also run the upgraded Wear 3 - as expected.The Oppo Watch 2, which will be released in July, was not mentioned.
