Garmin has introduced the Instinct 2, a sports watch with endless battery life and is available in a variety of flavors and sizes, including a new unisex 40mm Instinct 2S, and is the only variant with indefinite battery life, is also available.There are also Surf, Camp, and Tactical models with additional functionality.It's available in 45mm and 40mm diameters, with a lightweight body weighing only 52g on the heaviest variant. It still has an 810 military standard toughness rating and a water resistance rating of 100 metres.Unlimited battery life:Garmin has been pushing the boundaries of battery life in recent years, and the Garmin Enduro from 2021 boasted incredible battery life and could theoretically only be charged a few times per year.In smartwatch mode, however, the Garmin Instinct 2 Solar now has an indefinite battery life as long as it receives three hours of 50,000 lux brightness, which Garmin describes as a regular, overcast day.Wristwatch mode effectively translates to regular usage, which means heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, smartwatch alerts, Body Battery, VO2 Max, and Firstbeat insights are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no need to charge.Extra charges to start conducting complete nighttime pulse oximetry tracking, but Garmin claims one can go about your everyday business without ever having to charge the Instinct 2 Solar.The non-solar Instinct 2 has a battery life of 28 days, whereas the Instinct 2S Standard has a battery life of 21 days and joins other mid-range Garmin devices in delivering Connect IQ applications for the first time, bolstering its smartwatch capabilities even more.More fitness metricsAside from battery life, Garmin has packed the Instinct 2 with a slew of new fitness data, bringing it even closer to the Fenix.The Instinct now has Firstbeat-driven VO2 Max, Training Effect, and Training Load, as well as insights on recuperation and suggested exercises, making it the first fitness and performance watch.There are other sports modes available, and Garmin has added golf to the mix, with basic distance tracking for 40,000 courses available via Garmin Connect.Garmin Instinct is an outdoor watch a low-cost Fenix for folks who can't afford Garmin's flagship at Rs. 53,302.
