Spotify App for Wear OS Smartwatches
, by raj, 1 min reading time
Spotify has launched a standalone app for Wear OS smartwatch owners to bring support for the music service. The Spotify Wear OS app will be available for Wear smartwatches globally over the coming week. You can also download it from the Google Play Store using your phone or watch, provided you have Wear 2.0 or later running on your device. This standalone app allows you to play, pause, skip and browse recently played music and podcasts from the watch app. You can use Spotify Connect support to connect and play music from your smartwatch on compatible speakers in your home. You can add favorites to your Spotify music library by tapping on the heart icon next to the song. But sadly, the app doesnt offer offline playlist support.Come November, Spotify will be auto-installing the new standalone app on all of Fossil's fourth generation Wear OS smartwatches. Now that Garmin, Samsung and now Google's Wear OS watches are all getting an app, will Apple Watch follow suit?
