Samsung joining hands with Wear OS

Evidence to back up the rumors that had leaked via Twitter, of Samsung returning to the Wear OS club has been spotted by experts at XDA Developers in Samsung code. Reference to Merlot, the codename of a device that runs on Wear OS has been spotted by Ivan Meler in the Galaxy S20 smartphones kernel source code and some functionalities of Samsung smartwatches. This evidence also supports the rumors that a new device is cooking. However, it is not yet certain but just rumors and the reasons for Samsungs shift from Tizen to Wear OS is unknown. Samsung shifted from Wear OS to Tizen OS in 2014 and has been successful by being second in the market, first being Apple. But some issues related to Tizen such as lags in the app, shorter battery life than its claims and its incapability to attract developers since it is a closed system are notable. It is also possible that Samsung may be releasing a new series or brand under Wear OS and will not completely ditch Tizen OS by releasing the successor Galaxy Watch series or Galaxy Watch Active series. In spite of the success offered by Tizen to Samsung, the possible reasons that can explain its affinity to Wear OS could be the Snapdragon Wear 4100 that offers high performing battery life. Google also has previous records in enabling companies like OPPO to add their own OS to Wear OS, which performed well. However, Samsung driving higher volumes, joining hands with Google, and access to developers to form apps for its platform could take Wear OS platform to a different level. The two together can run a remarkable Wear OS reboot.
