Vantage V and Vantage M watches have got firmware updates that brings in a host of new features. The notable ones are improved sleep tracking and satellite mapping support. The update will add features like Sleep Quality Insights and Sleep Plus Stages that were first seen on Polars Ignite watch. The update basically lets you keep an eye on the quality and length of your sleep pattern. It also tells you whether you have had sufficient rest proportional to the previous days exertion with its features like Recovery Insights and Nightly Recharge Insights. Nightly Recharge data is generated once your sleep has been monitored for three consecutive days. This data, along with other data like how you slept, and how well your Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) calmed down during your sleep, will tell you if you had sufficient rest. Guided-breathing features that will relax you through some exercises are also transferred to the Vantage watches from Ignite. The navigation skill of Vantage has been made better by adding Galileo and QZSS satellite system support.Features like manual stride sensor calibration with zone lock that supports heart rate, pace, and running/cycling power are also added. Other highlights are inactivity alerts, a constant backlight during training, and a fitness test that can be performed using Polar's onboard heart-rate monitor. Polar is expected to bring out more updates in December. A 5.0 update that brings Strava Live Segments on the Vantage V as well as Race Pace and FitSpark will both be onboard Vantage watches.
