Mobvoi has announced that it is working on a top-secret health wristwatch, with an emphasis on vascular health.

 

The unidentified wristwatch is being developed in partnership with CardieX, an Australian health tech firm.

 

CardieX features FDA-approved technology for monitoring artery pressure waveforms, as well as a variety of health indicators not yet available on consumer devices.

 

The Mobvoi smartwatch will be able to monitor things like an arterial health score, Exercise Capacity, arterial age, and Heart Stress Score using the CardieX Arty Heart Health analytics platform.

 

So, what exactly is this brand-new smartwatch? In the press release, there isn't a lot of information. Mobvoi CEO Zhifei Li stated that the upcoming introduction of the new wristwatch will give a preview of the Arty Heart Health capabilities while also demonstrating Mobvoi's dedication to health-focused features in its consumer electronics portfolio.

 

However, following XDA Developers' discovery of references to arterial health metrics and TruHR in the Mobvoi app source code, theres already reports of these exact capabilities arriving. The capabilities were not included in the TicWatch Ultra GPS, which was released in October 2020 and had algorithmic Afib detection.

 

But those rumours also referenced the launch of a potential TicWatch GTH+ and GTH Pro, the names of which are also found in the same source code.

 

The TicWatch GTH was Mobvoi's first budget health watch, including features like skin temperature and blood oxygen levels.

 

As a result, the addition of these additional measures would be a logical fit for the GTH, elevating it to the status of a serious health monitor. There are no assurances that this will be released under the TicWatch brand, and it might be a change from Mobvoi's previous strategy.

 

But its expected to arrive soon.
