Bellabeat has announced that their Ivy tracker has been authorised as a medical grade device by the FDA.The Bellabeat Ivy is a fitness tracker for women that was created with female wellness in mind. It's intended as a piece of jewellery, similar to Bellabeat's other trackers, and it resembles any bracelet. The Bellabeat Ivy's main goal is to use the sensors to measure metrics like menstrual cycle, fertility, postpartum depression, and menopausal symptoms, as well as overall wellbeing and exercise.A heart rate monitor is used in the gadget, which maintains track of resting heart rate, breathing rate, and cardiac coherence. It also generated a Readiness Score, as Fitbit, Garmin, Whoop, and Oura have all done recently.Bellabeat hopes that, now that the Ivy has received FDA clearance, it will be utilised in medical settings to assist doctors and medical professionals in monitoring female patients.Bellabeat is still in the early phases of the FDA approval procedure, gathering information for its application. Many firms have been trapped while waiting for FDA certification, like Withings, which waited years for approval in the United States for its Withings ScanWatch and Withings Move ECG devices. That was finally allowed, but it necessitated the completion of large-scale investigations, which can take years. That fact has not slipped Bellabeat's notice. Bellabeat co-founder Urka Sren said that they recognize that the clearance and certification procedure for medical devices in the United States may take up to five years, and so they're taking extra precautions with their studies to avoid any delays.Bellabeat, on the other hand, is obviously seeking to transcend beyond simple consumer tracking and establish itself as a leader in women's wellness and health tracking - and it stands a good chance with so little competition.
