After a leaked picture purported to be a fitness tracker from the Google-owned firm appeared, we may get our first glimpse at the Fitbit Charge 5. It appears to be bigger than the new Fitbit Luxe, but it has a comparable AMOLED display, indicating a natural progression from the Charge 4. The Charge 4 is Fitbit's flagship fitness tracker, including almost all of its top features with the exception of an EDA sensor and ECG, which are only available on the Fitbit Sense. The Charge 4 was the first phone to include GPS, however the design was identical from the Charge 3. We did, however, critique the Charge 4's lacklustre display, which appears to have been fixed. The Fitbit Charge 5 is expected to keep its overall size and proportions. With an AMOLED display, the Luxe has proven that it can maintain a reasonable battery life, consistently delivering 5 days in our testing.Of course, this might exist independently of the Charge brand. Fitbit CTO Eric Friedman stated in our interview that the future of Fitbit devices would blur the distinctions between smartwatches and activity trackers. According to Friedman, the lines between these two groups may become increasingly blurred. Although it would be astonishing if Fitbit dropped its famed Charge flagship brand, this appears to be a hybrid gadget.
