Guided exercises and real-time training have been added to Form, the augmented reality swimming goggles. We gave Foirm a 4.5/5-star rating and a Top Pick award in 2019 after being pleased by the sensor-laden swimming goggles.
And now there's a major new feature in the linked goggles.
The new Workouts mode elevates the Form experience to a new level.
Endurance, Power, Sprint, Recovery, and Technique are among the topics covered in the guided sessions. This might include in-pool high-intensity interval training or lengthier sessions targeted at maintaining a good technique.
Before entering the pool, users may download exercises on their goggles. They will be guided through the workout using Form's built-in display once it begins.
This will display real-time information, such as when to rest and when to push, as well as swim data, such as stroke rate and stroke count, to the swimmer.
In addition to the actual exercises, the Form app will display method videos and tutorials for users to view before entering the pool.
This, however, comes at a fee - and it isn't free for existing Form goggles users. The premium Workout tier will set you back $19.99 per month or $179.99 for the year. That's a bit costly, but there isn't much on the market for serious swimmers, whereas runners and cyclists are blessed with options.
This is Form's second significant improvement, after the inclusion of GPS tracking for competitive swimming when used in conjunction with a Garmin or Apple Watch.
Current Form users could get the update immediately now.
