Google Rolled Out a Long-overdue Wear OS Redesign

Though Google has been quietly updating the OS (formerly known as the Android Wear), this is the first significant upgrade your wrist is going to get since Android Wear 2.0 upgrade in February 2017. Though cosmetic changes are quite minimal, it does promise major improvements in the way you access information through navigational shortcuts, thereby bringing down your watch interaction. Thanks to this new update, you can now swipe up to view all your notifications in a list and not only that, you can now respond straight from the notification stream and send smart replies by simply tapping on your message. Swiping to your right will help access your new assistant while with a swipe to the left, you can preview your fitness information. Swiping down will still get you to the quick settings tray with an addition of Google Pay and Find my phone button. The Google Assistant in Wear OS will now help provide useful tips and relevant information proactively in sync with your current place and time. You can get updates about everything from the traffic and weather to your flight bookings and hotel reservations. You now have the option to search for restaurants near your hotel, you will be warned if theres traffic on the way to work and more. According to Dennis Troper, head of product on Wear OS, only a small number of old smartwatches wont get the update but if your smartwatch didn't get the Android Wear 2.0 update, you can bet you wont get this either!
