, by raj, 1 min reading time
Fitbit, now owned by Google, is all set to launch a new Fitbit Ace 3 fitness tracker for kids. The screen is going bigger with a touchscreen and 20% brighter than 0.7-inch screen sized Ace 2. New animated watch faces that are attractive for children and change their size as they approach the daily fitness goals are added. Minion straps are sold separately.Considering the effects of pandemic on children, to reduce screen time, Ace 3 has move reminders that prompts kids to take 250 steps per hour and in total 60 minutes of active time per day. It features monochrome display, step tracking, sport monitor, bedtime reminders, silent alarms, timer, stopwatch, 5ATM water resistance and gives sleep insights. It does not include a heart rate monitor. It has a good battery life that lasts upto 8 days on single charge. Since it is a device with more focus on keeping kids active, there is no GPS added. It has an app for parents to set access, which is not as great as the one in Garmin Vivofit Jnr. Kids receive rewards as badges for achieving set goals. The Family Face Off challenge allows kids to compete with family members. The Fitbit Ace 3 costs 7,000 INR and will be launched on March 15th.
