Apple Watch to Soon Help Manage Diabetes
, by raj, 1 min reading time
A new tech start-up (Livongo) will soon be adding a smartwatch friendly software that is targeted at diabetics. This software aims to give users personalised notifications such as reminders to take fasting blood sugar reading (before breakfast) and also provide the users with dietary suggestions for daily meal planning. These Health nudges are user-specific and not generic notifications. The software allows for data collected (such as step counts, details from health challenges the user participates) to be transferred to an app, and this further personalises the notifications. The Apple watch series4 already has an ECG feature that is helping save lives. With this new feature for diabetes management, smartwatches will definitely move beyond being just step counters and sleep trackers.
