According to renderings that supposedly show how the upcoming Apple Watch would look, the Series 7 might bring a fresh design for Apple's wearable.

The CAD renderings acquired by 91mobiles, that are believed to come from industry insiders, seem to verify earlier unconfirmed reports that the Series 7 would include a casing that is considerably flatter than existing Apple Watches and will match Apple's latest iPhones and iPads in terms of style.

According to the renderings, the next Watch would have thinner bezels to allow a bigger display. The speaker configuration on the left side of the casing is expected to alter, but the side button and Digital Crown will stay on the right side.

From the back, it appears that the sensor arrangement will be identical to the Series 6, with the PPG and ECG sensors expected to return.

According to the source, the Series 7 will be available in a 44mm casing with a bigger 1.8-inch display than the 1.73-inch screen on the 44mm Series 6. However, no information on a 40mm Watch Series 7 was provided.

The proposed design change is consistent with previous reports from Apple leaker Jon Prosser, who said that Apple was preparing a flat-edged design to reflect the iPhone 12's improvements. Based on pictures and CAD drawings he'd seen; he created his own renderings.

Bloomberg also reported on a new-look Watch, claiming that there will be modifications to accommodate a new display and smaller bezels.

We're getting close to Apple's September launch, when it normally unveils new Watches with new iPhones, so we won't have to wait long to find out if the curves are out and a flatter appearance is in for the company's wristwatch. We'll also see if reported features like a larger battery or non-invasive blood pressure monitoring make it into the final product.
