Get ready for a new Samsung smartwatch as details of a device with a familiar model number has been cleared at the FCC. The product ID document mentions the SMR500 model number which rings a bell and is speculated to be a watch codenamed Pulse which will be officially unveiled as the Samsung Galaxy Sport.
The Pulse codename and Samsung Galaxy Sport is not mentioned anywhere in the entire documentation but there are several mentions of a wrist device with Bluetooth, so definitely a wearable. If you go by the model numbers attached to previous watches, it is likely to be a watch. There are a lot of rumours floating around about the product – from improved Bixby smart assistant skills and new sports tracking features to some serious health monitoring hardware. As far as the aesthetics is concerned, looks like Samsung is going for a minimalist design with two buttons.
There is no indication of the watch featuring the signature rotating bezel and that’s a downer. So how long do we have to wait for our speculations to turn into facts…. maybe not long. The Korean company already announced an Unpacked event in February for its next flagship Galaxy smartphone and maybe the wearable too will make an appearance.
