Huawei Watch 2 is doing pretty well! So the brand is taking its time in releasing Huawei Watch 3, which we think is going to be named as Huawei Watch X, as per the new trademark filings at the European Union Intellectual Property Office. 91 mobiles spotted this listing in reference to “electronic devices comprised primarily of a wristwatch and also featuring a telephone.”
Earlier this year, Huawei filed trademarks for 3 devices – Anchor, Voyage, and Unlimited. These trademarks were not in reference to any particular device. However, the Watch X name shows that it is clearly meant for a smartwatch.
As for the features, we don’t know what this new watch could bring. But, we feel that it is likely to have eSIM technology just like Huawei Watch 2 2018 and Huawei Watch 2 Pro. Plus, the brand has patents for new designs in built-in wireless headphones. We could also expect the feature-rich design of flagship P20 Pro Smartphone in this flagship smartwatch. Huawei also has a trend of putting in maximum number of features in a device. We believe we can hope to see the same in this new device too.
As for the release of this Watch X, we think it should be later this year. IFA 2018 is over. Google is not releasing a Pixel watch this year. Samsung and Apple have already released their flagship smart watches. So, Huawei has enough time for its flagship smartwatch.
