Spend more time with Daddy Skywalker in Oculus Quest’s three-part Darth Vader VR

Oculus is partnering with ILMxLab to launch the new title for its Oculus Quest VR headset. This new series written by David S Goyer will have a new Star Wars “story experience” that’s all about Darth Varder. A follow up of The Void’s Secrets of the Empire, the timeline of this quest lies between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

The Dark Knight writer, Goyer says “The three-part story will take you up close and personal with Vader though it doesn’t sound like you’ll actually play the Sith lord. You will still get to play an active role in the story, and you’ll be able to spend some time at Vader’s castle on the lava planet Mustafar, which is the location of Secrets of the Empire as well. You’ll also be able to lightsaber duel with Vader too.” Goyer also goes on to talk about his work with Lucasfilm’s story group and ILMxLab in putting together this series of interconnected virtual reality stories. The first part of the series is called Vader Immortal and will be released in early 2019.

The series features support for 6DoF tech and bass-heavy speakers and is optimized for the latest high-end standalone headset. If Vader Immortal is successful, we could probably look for more from Oculus. We now know that Vader Immortal is set to be launched on Quest. We need to wait and watch to see if it will debut on the Rift. We will update you once we know more.
