The Samsung Gear S3 did impress a lot of customers around the globe and since the launch in 2016, the world has been waiting for the updated version of the timepiece from the Korean tech giants. As we all expected the new device to be Gear S4, Samsung has turned the cards by submitting a patent on a new name for the smartwatch, Samsung Galaxy Watch is the name it is going to get.
Galaxy Club, the Dutch website was among the few who spotted the patent application which has nearly got its confirmation. A new addition to the range of Galaxy products from Samsung is certainly a smarter move. To add to the speculation, Tizen OS might just be replaced by Wear OS on the Galaxy Watch along with an upgrade in terms of processor, memory, battery and even inclusion of LTE.
It won’t be a surprise to see some improvement in the fitness features as well. Rumours suggest the new smartwatch will monitor blood pressure directly from the wrist 24/7. No names in the market have yet managed to crack this deal, so it will be highly exciting if Samsung can manage that in their new smartwatch.
Speculated dates of release points towards the Samsung’s Unpacked event on August 9th and the IFA in Germany during the first week of September.
