At a time when the tech world is busy with Black Friday deals, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has announced the arrival of Honor Magic Watch 2. This was expected because there was a similar launch the previous year; Huawei announced a new smartwatch a few weeks before an almost similar Honor device appeared. The Honor Magic Watch 2 repeats pretty much everything of the the Huawei Watch GT 2, the parent company’s new device.
The watch comes in two versions — a 46mm case and a 42mm case– that resemble the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. Both have AMOLED displays. The 46mm version comes with 454 x 454-pixel resolution display and the 42mm version with a 390 x 390-pixel resolution display. The display has 800 nits of brightness that will make the Magic Watch 2’s display a bit easier to be viewed in direct sunlight. The strap options for the watch are black fluoroelastomer, brown leather, or rose gold Milanese Loop. The 46mm version weighs around 41g, whereas the 42mm version weighs 29g. The commendable feature for a Huawei watch is its battery life. It is estimated to be around 14 days. It is a fantastic choice for a fitness freak. The two crowns on the watch — one for lifestyle features and the other for fitness features — do not stick out much and so the watch does not look too bulky on your wrist.
Like the original device, you will get the virtual pacesetter for running, waterproofing up to 5 ATM for swimming, GPS for location tracking, and VO2 Max estimations in addition to a few wellness features like sleep tracking, stress monitoring, and breathing exercises. The Magic Watch 2 is going on sale in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East on 12 December. Pricing has not yet been officially announced but we hope both the models will be slightly cheaper than its Huawei equivalent. We will be updating this story when Honor releases more details. Stay tuned for our complete review.
