Fossil has officially unveiled Julianna HR and Carlyle HR smartwatches, its latest generation smartwatches. They run on Google’s Wear OS and include in a speaker. Looks like they are updated versions of the Q Venture HR and Explorist HR. The Gen 5 duo include the Tiles feature so that you get a quicker access to frequently used Wear features. They will come pre-loaded with Spotify, Noonlight and Cardiogram apps.
Cardiogram can help monitor heart related conditions. The smartphones will come with 8GB storage and 1GB of RAM, offering more space for your media. The smartwatches come with a speaker, so now you can listen to music without headphones, hear responses from Google Assistant, and most importantly, take calls from your wrist when the watch is connected to your smartphone. As of now only Android users can use the ability to take calls but Fossil revealed that the functionality will be extended to iPhone users later this year. Julianna HR and Carlyle HR smartwatches will offer Google Pay support, built-in GPS, an altimeter, motion sensors and a microphone.
As far as the look and feel is concerned, the Gen 5 duo come with 44mm stainless steel watch cases with 1.3-inch touchscreen AMOLED displays. You can pick from a host of different looks. They both come with 22m straps that you can swap for different looks. They are swimproof up to 30 metres depth. They offer 24 hours of battery life, but additional battery modes are available to extend the life. The Julianna HR and Carlyle HR are available for 23,000 INR.
