The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 was launched earlier this May and during the launch we were told that users can look forward to a version with NFC that offers contactless payment option. Now, the version has been released, but only for users in China. With the NFC option enabled, users can use the budget fitness tracker to make payments for public transport.
It will work in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and 156 more cities in China. This version also acts as a virtual access card for offices, homes, and other identified locations. Except for the addition of NFC option, the other features are same as the previous version. The tracker has a curved OLED touchscreen display and a heart rate monitor. It supports sleep tracking and has a 5ATM water rating. Users can accept or reject calls and check smartphone notifications on the wrist. The revamped Mi Fit app has all the live fitness data. The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is available on JD.com, Tmall, Xiaomi Youpin, Mi Home, and Mi.com. It costs 2,500 INR, which is roughly 2,100 INR.
T Huami, the makers of the Mi Band 3 and the new edition have also released the Health Band 1S wearables and Amazfit Verge smartwatch. The Health Band has a built-in ECG heart rate tracker similar to what you have in selected Apple Watch Series 4 smartwatches. Huami also launched the AI-powered wearable chip that will be used in the next-generation devices due for launch in 2019.
