It is quite overwhelming to see how the generation is welcoming various wearable technology in their everyday life. From fitness trackers to smartwatches, there are loads to mention but today we will learn about a completely different technology that keeps bugs and mosquitoes away. Bandito, as the name suggests will keep mosquitoes away for the good, thereby helping you keep away imminent dangers of dengue, Zika virus, malaria etc.
Bandito is developed by Guarden, it is a Chicago based start-up and the gizmo uses sonic sound along with nontoxic scent to keep away the bug.
Citronella, lemongrass and peppermint are known to have a characteristic smell that drives away mosquitoes and Bandito uses a smart combination of the three aforementioned ingredients to create that unique smell. Along with it, Bandito constantly creates a sound which mosquitoes hate but would not bother you or your loving pets.
With a battery that lasts for about 500-hours and a single refill that runs for 3 months, Bandito can be used for 5 hours or more a day to achieve these numbers. Each of the 12 vacuum sealed scent strips in the refill lasts a couple of weeks or more.
Guarden has also decided to fight malaria in Africa and every time one buys a Bandito, 1% of the revenue is donated to the Malaria No More foundation.
