The world is getting all the more health-centric and somehow realized the importance of being on the move, courtesy of innumerable fitness trackers making it a clearer choice for people. The Apple Watch Series 3 has racked up unbelievable sales number and points at being capable of LTE connectivity. Attributing to this feature, users can now go for a run without having to carry the smartphone, making it easier in many ways. The data from Canalys also reveals the Series 3 to be the most selling LTE watch in the market.

The first quarter of 2018 reports shows Apple accounts for 59%of the cellular smartwatch market. These whopping numbers are possible because of the lack of competition from other brands, as told by Jason Low, the senior analyst at Canalys. The old models of LG, Huawei, and Samsung are failing to pose a threat to Apple in any way.

The Q1’s data reveals a huge 20.5 million units of wearable devices sold worldwide and in that Apple alone sold 3.8 million units, followed by Xiaomi, Fitbit, Garmin and Huawei sitting next. If only smartwatches are concerned, it is Garmin and not Xiaomi who sits after Apple in the ranks with 1 million units.

Canalys also claims people are getting more involved with smartwatches and that leads to giants like Fitbit to try and sell more watches and not fitness trackers. Whatever the reports suggest, overall it is an impressive number as more and more people are turning towards being healthy.
