Apple has added Time to Walk workouts to its smartwatch, making a welcome upgrade to its Fitness+ feature The Apple Fitness+ service was launched in December, and is loaded with studio and gym workouts led by expert trainers. All these guided workouts are tracked by the Apple Watch. Fitness+ is a great app, with effective workouts and an amazing soundtrack.
There 25- and 40-minutes long walks, during which you can choose to listen to celebrity stories. You can currently enjoy Time to Walk episodes from Shawn Mendes, Dolly Parton, Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba and NBA player Draymond Green., while new episodes will get added every Monday until the end of April. In the current pandemic situation, where gyms are closed, walking is the best form of exercise. So, this new focus on walking by Apple is a welcome inclusion.
In addition to burning some good number of calories, walking is also beneficial for improving mental health. The Time to Walk episodes are great company on your solitary walks but to be honest there are great podcasts and materials out there on life lessons, inspirational stories and more that you may like more than what Apple has to offer.
