Amazfit makes a new addition to its budget wearable family – the Amazfit Verge. This supercharged smartwatch comes with an impressive range of features and priced at just 13,000 INR.
This chunky smartwatch has a 43mm body and 1.3-inch AMOLED 360 x 360 screen display. It is just IP68 water resistant, so not suitable for swimming. The watch is built with a dual core 1.2GHz processor. It has a 512MB RAM and 4GB storage on board. According to Huami, the Amazfit Verge works for 5 days on a single battery charge.
The heart rate monitor tracks all-day BPM and also notifies users in case of abnormal heart rates. However, we are not very sure about the accuracy of the Amazfit Stratos sensor and hope that it will have some improvements. The NFC built-in allows for payments with AliPay and UnionPay We are still not clear about Western services/banks.
The Amazfit Verge works on its own custom operating system and doesn’t use Wear OS. Also, it has a built-in Xiao AI voice assistant.
It doesn’t run on Wear OS, which is the real shame, and instead uses its own custom OS. That OS means a built-in Xiao AI voice assistant.
The price (13,000 INR) is truly astounding. This smartwatch is only available in China (via JD.com). We are hoping that it will soon come to the West, perhaps with a Google OS. Watch this space for more on this smartwatch.
